About the Fund
Created in June 1983, the Fonds de solidarité FTQ is a development capital company that relies on the savings and solidarity of all Quebecers. Its main mission is to contribute to Québec’s economic growth by creating, maintaining or safeguarding jobs through investments in businesses in all sectors of the Québec economy. One of its goals is also to encourage retirement savings and provide its hundreds of thousands of shareholders-investors a reasonable return on top of the higher tax benefits they receive.
The Fonds de solidarité FTQ isthe largest development capital investment network in Québec and was created at the initiative of the FTQ , the largest union center in Quebec. Through its governance and codes of ethics , it acts as a socially responsible investor committed to human and sustainable economic development . Moreover, beyond the invested capital, it is committed to supporting the development of businesses by offering value-added services, including economic training .
The Fonds de solidarité FTQ, whose net assets stood at $ 14.8 billion as at November 30, 2018, has become a hub of knowledge and resources for the benefit of Quebec businesses and a key player in the Québec economy.
Create, maintain or save jobs
Invest in companies with economic impact in Quebec and provide them with services to contribute to their development and to create, maintain or safeguard jobs.
Train the workers
Promote the training of workers in the field of the economy and allow them to increase their influence on the economic development of Quebec.
Develop Québec’s economy
Stimulate the Quebec economy through strategic investments that will benefit workers and Quebec businesses.
Prepare for retirement
Raise awareness and encourage workers to save for their retirement and participate in the development of the economy through the subscription of shares of the Fund.
